On 8/28/2024 Cincinnati Police Chief Theetge swore in seven new Parking Enforcement officers at Cincinnati Police Academy. The new officers are a response to the administration’s SEIT initiative. The initiative collected recommendations from DCED, Parking, CPD, as well as citizen input and council ordinances and submitted them all to City Manager Long for review. She determined that an increase of Parking staff was necessary to meet the added demands seen in recent years as well as a demand for quality of life improvements for the city’s residents. Now commissioned, the officers will be available for enforcement duties by the end of September upon completion of their training.
